Hi! I’m Maria, a senior copywriter based in Seattle.

I’ve been fascinated by the power of storytelling for as long as I can remember. And over the last 9 years, I’ve helped brands tell all kinds of stories. I’ve written quippy lines for 40-character texts and 48-foot billboards. I’ve transformed operational jargon into conversational, pitch-perfect prose. I’ve woven empathetic, human narratives to inform brand photoshoots. I’ve revved tirelessly on scripts, cast talent, sat on sets and in soundbooths. Where there’s a business problem, there’s a story and a strong CTA.

I believe that creative ideas can come from anyone, but great creative comes from great teams — and great teams are the ones who have fun at work.

Thoughts on the Oxford comma: It’s unnecessary. Unless your style guide says otherwise.

My favorite breakfast food is some sort of fancy-looking toast that would undoubtedly cost $16 at brunch, made at home by me. (This used to say $14, but I had to adjust for inflation.)

BTW — my last name, Hashim, is pronounced with a short “i”.
